Custom knit “ugly Christmas sweater” yarn bombs commissioned by the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District in San Francisco and sponsored by local businesses to promote Merrytime at the Wharf: various holiday events and festive atmosphere as well as a “Share the Warmth” coat drive for the homeless population of San Francisco. The custom design features each sponsor’s name knit at eye level with stripes in holiday colors in conjunction with a showpiece Wharf signpost yarn bomb. Installed for over a month with no damage or fading, these yarn bombs may be cleaned and reused or repurposed.

Hand designed and entered electronic knitting chart.
Stranded color work “fake intarsia” knitting.
Hand sewn invisible mattress stitch seam.
